A Fan tradition since 1987, Davis & Main serves sophisticated American cuisine. Diners, whether they are regulars coming from the Fan neighborhood or in from the suburbs for a special night, expect perfectly grilled menu items, innovative dinner specials, efficient friendly service, and—new this season—some fabulous appetizers, homemade, organic desserts, and a new, yet still popularly priced American wine list. And, that’s what they get!

The building at 2501 W. Main that houses the restaurant—like many Fan restaurants—began as a grocery store in the ‘30s and ‘40s. In the ‘50s it evolved into pool hall complete with illegal gambling! No more slot machines, folks, but the huge mirrors, dark wood paneling, ornate tin ceiling, antique lamps, and long, gorgeous bar remain. The restaurant is intimate with four booths and a dozen tables only.

The bar lines almost an entire wall and the Davis & Main bartenders serve an infamously perfect martini.

Davis & Main has long been known for its enthusiastic recycling program, neighborhood activism, and support of the fine arts in the city.
